Photographer
Chasing all five corners of the world — full-time, with a camera in hand and a cause in mind. I travel for the stories that don't make it to the feed: the people, the landscapes, the quiet moments where nature and humanity meet. I shoot both digital and film.

Still being written — come back soon.
Lorenzo Macovei is an Italian photographer,
climate activist, and full-time wanderer.
I am shaped by Italian culture, its chaos and light, but my blood traces a migration path that crossed Moldova and landed in central Italy before I was born. I never inherited that origin. No language, no rituals, barely any stories. Just a blurred sense that somewhere behind me, people were always moving. And I bet that’s where the wandering comes from. Not from belonging to two places, but from belonging fully to neither.
I travel to understand. To sit with people whose lives look nothing like mine, to listen until their world starts to make sense. In a time when everything feels like it’s coming apart, those encounters are what keep me going.
Fighting for the world is the other half of who I am. I work as a climate consultant and diplomat, going to high level conferences to bring youth and less represented voices to the table. I am driven by the acknowledgement that the people living at the frontlines of what we’ve broken are also the ones who know best how to heal it.
The camera is how I bridge it all. A photograph is an act of attention. A proof that the world showed itself and I didn’t look away.
